Hi.

I’m John Fiksdal. I’ve spent most of my life in media in some way or another. Put a pirate radio station on the air with friend Nat at 10. Disk jockey at 16. Morning TV anchor at 20. Partnered to form Media One® at 24.

And I haven’t had a real job since.

Along the way, I’ve learned what my job is. It’s not about TV spots or brochures or web pages, or even ultimately about cranking out content. It’s about understanding needs and wants, and figuring out what begs to be said. About anything. A product or service. An idea. A worldview.

Well, I’ve got a bunch to say. That’s why I’m writing this stuff.

We can do this democracy thing. Catch up to a world that is leaving America in the dirt. Together, we can kick ass. But first, we’ll need to come to terms with what’s really real, and see beyond the obfuscation of left/right posturing and rhetoric.

To do so, we’ll need to start with the very basics. I’ll try to not bore you too bad. ly.
